Giving a trunk show: 40 Years a Quilter!

224 April Showers Bring May Flowers 3
Detail of “April Showers Bring May Flowers” pieced and hand-quilted by Barb Gorges, 2002, using Lunn Fabrics hand-dyed fabric and John Flynn’s Double Wedding Ring pattern method.

My quilt guild, the Cheyenne Heritage Quilters, has invited me to give a trunk show of my quilts Oct. 1, 7 p.m. in Allison Hall at First United Methodist Church, 108 E. 18th St., Cheyenne, Wyoming. The program is free and you are invited!

The title is “40 Years a Quilter: Fads and Fashions in Quilting.” My theme is tracing the changes in quiltmaking techniques, patterns and fabrics using my own quilts as examples. Does everyone start out making a denim quilt? Do you remember watercolor quilts?

I’ll have a few copies of “Quilt Care, Construction and Use Advice” (no-color edition) available at the meeting for $7 each.
