Recently I was invited by the acting Wyoming Tribune Eagle Features Editor, Ellen Fike, to write 700 words about quilt care–and mention my book, “Quilt Care Construction and Use Advice: How to Help Your Quilt Live to 100.” It was published Aug. 11, 2018, and also at Wyoming Network News, https://www.wyomingnetworknews.com/tips-on-quilt-care-in-time-for-heritage-quilters-annual-show-quilt-care-basics-cleaning-use-and-storage. It’s the next best thing to a book review. Read the article at https://gorgesquiltcarelabels.com/.
Last week I spoke about quilt care to the Slater Women, a social group that has been meeting for over 70 years in Slater, Wyoming, an unincorporated town now marked only by the community hall. I was also able to sell copies of my book at Quilt Wyoming in Riverton, Wyoming, last month. Online sales continue to improve. Last I looked, “Quilt Care” had a 5-star rating. Please consider writing a short review for Amazon if you’ve read the book.
August is quilt season here. The Laramie County Fair is this week. I’m happy to say that my “Jelly Stars” quilt (detail pictured above) came in as Reserve Grand Champion–second place among all the kinds of quilts entered. Next week is the Wyoming State Fair, but it is also the Cheyenne Heritage Quilters’ show and “Jelly Stars” will be there.
